Washington, 1 September (WashingtonTV)—US President Barack Obama’s job approval rating has continued to fall, according to two new polls released on Monday.
A poll by Rasmussen showed that only 46 percent of those surveyed approved of the president’s performance, the lowest level yet for Obama, according to Reuters. Fifty-three percent disapproved.
Along party lines, eight in 10 Democrats approved Obama’s job performance, while the same percentage of Republicans disapproved, according to U.S. News & World Report.
Meanwhile, a Zogby poll showed the president’s job approval rating at 45 percent, according to The Hill, a Washington-based newspaper.
The president’s sliding approval ratings come amid growing unease about his healthcare reform plans and the continuing stagnant economy.
A Gallup poll released last Thursday had Obama’s approval rating at 50 percent.
