 12:30GMT—7:30AM/EST

Washington, 19 November (WashingtonTV)—Israeli aircraft on Thursday bombed two smuggling tunnels and an alleged weapons factory in the Gaza Strip, in response to recent rocket attacks on Israel.

An Israeli army spokesperson said that some 15 rockets have been fired into Israel from the Hamas-ruled territory over the past month, repots Reuters.

Officials in Gaza said that three people were wounded in the air strikes. No injuries were reported from the rocket fire into Israel.

The two tunnels linked the southern city of Rafah with Egypt, the spokesperson said, according to the Associated Press.

Israel carries out sporadic attacks against smuggling tunnels, which are used to bring weapons and supplies into Gaza.

According to the Israeli army, some 270 rockets and mortar shells have been fired at Israel since the end of its offensive in Gaza at the beginning of the year, reports AFP.
